We applaud you for your sucessful decert and hard work behind it. Now let's keep that momentum going and help others that are going through the same issue. It's hader to get rid of a union than to get one, so backup from all of our collegues is important.

Comment on The American Nurses Association Does Not Represent the Interest of 2.9 Million Registered Nurses! by Anne

Whooooa! Tha ANA does NOT represent our nations' nurses. They do emphasises safety issues, but they are about 20 years behind the recent developments in the nursing community.

Most reporters and news outless know NOTHING about representative bodies in health care. Whatever the discipling, you put "American" befpre it and "Association"after it and VOILA!, you have the governmental body of that organization.

It is so obvious using "The American (you insert the disciplin; nurses, pharmacist, burn, pharmacological, operating room nurses, orthopedic nurses, neurological nurses, gastrointestinal nurses, hospital association,.

Some years ago, I attempted to contact a representative of the ANA for a reasson I can't remember. I was told that SINCE I WASN'T A MEMBER, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SPEAK WITH THEM.

I'm a freelance writer now, and I needed to get a quote from the ANA regarding an article I was writing and I had one heck of a time getting that quote.

I work at a Magnet Hospital and the Department of Nursing deserves the highest recognition possible for their professionalism and the high quality of patient care provided by each individual nurse. The thing is, our patient outcomes already reflect the excellence in nursing care that we provide. We don't need Magnet status. I believe we have Magnet status because we have the money to pay for the application and survey.I had a sibling who was a patient in a Magnet Status hospital in Milwaukee. She was on a Neurovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit. There was absolutely no comparison between the professionalism of the nursing staff there and at my hospital in SE Minnesota. The Magnet Status is all about who has the $ to buy it.
